Mr. Dell’s Cheesy Potato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Mr. Dell's Southern Style
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups chopped ham
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups grated colby/cheddar cheese or chunked past. process cheese food
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 5 drops Tobasco sauce (or more to suit taste)
Instructions
- Cook Mr. Dell's Potatoes in the four cups water to which you've added the bouillon; just until tender, not mushy.
- Saute onion and celery in 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add celery, onions and ham with 3 cups milk to cooked potatoes.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and cook approx. 5 minutes.
- Make paste with 1/4 cup flour and remaining 1 cup milk.
- Thicken soup with flour paste.
- Add cheese, and stir until melted.
- Add remaining ingredients and serve.
